People always say "this year was the busiest year ever!" every year, but I actually think 2014 is going to have to put up a pretty big fight to come close to 2013.
So much happened in these last 365 days. I graduated high school. I finished my first semester of college. Whitko's Class of 2013 lost a classmate and a friend. My family lost 4 pets. I made a couple decisions that, if given the chance, I'd give absolutely anything to go back and do differently. I've lost a few friends, and gained a few more.
But that's ok.
That's what we're here for.
Each and every day is a chance to make mistakes and turn around and learn from them, so that one day we may not make as many. 2013 taught me a lot about who I am and who I want to be some day. I learned that my friends mean so much more to me than I ever could have imagined. I learned so much about loss and heartbreak and pain, but I also learned a whole lot more about friendship and love and moving on to bigger and better things, and that wonderful feeling of having someone there for you when you need it, and being able to turn around and return the favor. I learned that the world around us and the lives we live are constantly changing; and the ones who are successful aren't the ones who stop it from changing- they're the ones who change with it the most. Here's to 2013, it was one hell of a ride, but it was one I'm thankful I had the chance to experience.
Help for a friend - cheap adopts!
My good friend ~Erradox (https://www.deviantart.com/erradox) is in need of a new tablet pen and is opening up some adopts on many bases! They currently prefer USD via PayPal, but are also accepting dA points! Please take a look if you're interested, and there is a lot to choose from. They have bases for humans, anthros, canines, felines, equines, and more. Erradox has an /incredibly/ cute and fun loving style and you will not regret having some of it for your favorite characters!

My friend's father was recently diagnosed with cancer. She is currently scheduled to leave the country to attend graduate school this coming January. Her father has expressed his wishes that she go to school and do what she loves. Round-trip tickets are currently around $1,000 USD.
A group of us are trying to raise enough money so that she can come home an extra time during the coming year. Right now she is not planning on coming home again until the 2018 holiday season.
